Walking through the streets of Kensington after our most recent Insight Day I was trying to think of comparisons to my home town of Douglas, Isle of Man???. I?m still yet to think of any! The hustling streets and vibrant social activity taking place amongst the many grand buildings is a far cry from a small town that is somewhat lacking (but outstanding in many other ways).
The reason for our visit to ?The Big Smoke? was to review the year so far, discuss plans for the year ahead and catch up with business associates and colleagues from the Knox Group. When taking a second to stop and consider the numerous individual and collective achievements of the AVI team in 2015 it turns out it has been a very successful year indeed and one that we can all be proud of. Establishing new relationships, developing existing ones and making a host of friends along the way have been just some of the highlights of a year that has seen us visit a record number of countries across the globe.
Looking to the year ahead ?more of the same? was very much the theme of the day whilst also being mindful of how we can learn and develop from our experiences thus far. Further work with our existing partners as well as the introduction of new Funds to our suite are just some of the plans that will hopefully make 2016 as successful as 2015. Developing partnerships built on trust is key to everything we do and will remain a fundamental part of our work moving forward.
Luckily, in amongst all of the meetings, presentations and nodding of heads, we had some time to explore the many delights London has to offer. We enjoyed an evening of food and drinks in Covent Garden topped off by a visit to a cabaret bar in a converted underground lavatory, a venue that I was quite sceptical of at first but turned out to be a lot of fun and thankfully all above board!
So far 2015 has certainly been one to remember and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what next year has in store.
